Job Description

The Lecturer will be an instructor in the Health Information Management Systems division within the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. This position works remotely, and work assignments are based on the teaching needs of the Division including appropriate on-line courses. The primary responsibility of this position is the preparation and instruction of 3 credits of HIMS 5551: Healthcare Reimbursement for Practitioners to 100% on-line students in the Medical Coding and Healthcare Data Analytics for Practice Certificate program. The work assignments will be based on the curriculum of the certificate program and the teaching needs of the Division. Responsibilities include updating the course syllabus and calendar, ordering textbooks, posting reading materials, preparing and delivering lectures, responding to accommodation requests, updating assignments, grading assignments, posting grades, and reporting concerns about student performance. The lecturer will also meet regularly with the division director, respond to requests, attend faculty meetings, and prepare materials for annual review.
