Job Description
LBF is seeking a Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join our Corporate Legal Department. Reporting to the Associate Counsel- Marketing Compliance Manager, this role is vital in providing legal support, facilitating communication between Legal/Compliance and the Marketing department along with various Retail and Wholesale Sales channels. Responsibilities include serving as the initial marketing compliance contact, supporting marketing compliance through collateral reviews and audits, and assisting in creating, editing, revising, and proofreading legal documents and contracts.
Additionally, the role involves researching and analyzing law sources such as statutes, regulations, judicial decisions, and legal articles related to the mortgage industry, including RESPA, TILA, ECOA, FCRA, Fair Housing Act, Dodd Frank, UDAAP, GLBA, HMDA, and FHA/HUD and GNMA guidelines. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree, 2+ years of paralegal experience in real estate or mortgage, and knowledge of consumer finance and residential mortgage regulations.
