Job Description

The National Political Advocacy Department (NPAD) works to strengthen the efforts of the ACLU at federal, state, and local levels of government. The intern will assist with identifying opportunities to advance civil liberties and civil rights in complex policy areas through multiple methods at the federal, state, and local levels. The intern will also assist with developing strategic legislative and administrative policy options and preparing and drafting testimony on pending legislation before Congressional committees or federal regulatory agencies and other legislative or regulatory bodies at the state and local/municipal levels, as relevant. This role also involves coordinating in-depth civil liberties briefings for government officials as pertinent to advancing priority ACLU positions.
