Platform Engineer

Technical Leadership:

• Provide technical leadership across the platform team, influencing and guiding decisions without relying on formal authority.
• Evaluate and challenge architectural decisions with solid reasoning, identifying wrong paths early and proposing corrections.
• Apply strong, up-to-date knowledge of modern backend and/or the modern data stack to unblock problems and support decisions.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Collaborate with existing technical leads, co-creating solutions and finding common ground while sustaining technical disagreements.
• Communicate decisions through ADRs/RFCs, setting and raising the team's engineering standards.
• Support modernization efforts, balancing new architecture with legacy/on-prem constraints.

Required Skills:

• Proven experience as a Tech Lead or Staff Engineer, leading through influence, consensus, and example.
• Strong architectural judgment, with experience challenging and validating technical decisions.
• Solid, current knowledge of modern backend engineering and/or the modern data stack.
• Active use of AI tools in daily engineering work.
