Technical Author

The Technical Author plays a crucial role in helping our customers create and maintain safer buildings by providing technical expertise to both internal and external stakeholders, researching, and writing technical content to continually develop and expand the dynamic SFG20 library of maintenance schedules. Key responsibilities include carrying out research to produce high-quality technical maintenance-related content, ensuring all documentation complies with technical, legislative and statutory requirements. They also create and revise SFG20 maintenance schedules, conduct thorough reviews and edits of technical documents, and collaborate with subject matter experts. The role involves participating in product design reviews, providing technical advice, and managing document repositories. Furthermore, they implement version control, test documentation, and incorporate feedback to improve documentation quality continuously. The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience within the construction industry, a strong understanding of engineering principles, and excellent technical writing and communication skills. Familiarity with building handover documentation and the ability to interpret legislation and standards are essential. Flexible and able to work on numerous documents in an organised and disciplined way.
