Job Description
The Deputy Editor, Engagement manages engagement reporters on investigative stories reliant on community outreach. They work to bring project ideas to fruition, consulting with teams across the newsroom.
-Manage engagement reporters and identify crowdsourcing opportunities.
-Support the team in designing and managing callouts and building surveys.
-Edit stories geared toward the communities covered, including service journalism, tools, and guides.
-Collaborate with national, local, and specialty reporting teams and brainstorm innovative ideas.
-Prioritize projects and stories strategically across the organization.
