Lead MV Electrical Engineer, PE - Power & Infrastructure

The Opportunity:

• Monterra is a new kind of consulting engineering firm using AI agents to deliver power infrastructure engineering services faster.
• This role is for the first MV Electrical Engineer, owning technical design and shaping AI workflows.

What You'll Do:

• Design medium-voltage substations and distribution systems (15-69 kV) for data centers, BESS, microgrids, and EV charging.
• Perform protection studies and take projects through utility and AHJ review, sealing sheets as responsible engineer.
• Define MV engineering standards and help encode your expertise into AI-powered design tools.

Who You Are:

• A licensed PE with 7+ years of experience in MV distribution or substation design, including full design package ownership.
• Proficient in power system studies (ETAP, SKM, CDEGS) and AutoCAD, with deep knowledge of IEEE, NEC, and NESC standards.
• Excited to re-imagine engineering workflows and collaborate with software and AI teams.
