Billing Specialist

This position is responsible for contacting insurance companies and obtaining verifications of benefits for mental health and substance abuse services. This position is 100% remote. Responsibilities include verifying mental health and substance abuse insurance coverage benefits, maintaining patient demographic information, reporting weekly verifications of benefits to the admissions team, updating statuses on outstanding claims, assisting with weekly billing, and maintaining strict confidentiality. The role also involves working with the Director of Billing and Reporting Manager to maintain systems and processes, reviewing and processing medical billing claims, maintaining organized medical records, and communicating with patients regarding billing inquiries and payment options.
