VP - Senior Underwriter Affordable Housing

Looking for the opportunity to make an impact. Berkadia is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team, driving excellence in GSE housing underwriting standards. The role involves working with the DCUW to ensure adherence to the Company’s policies and procedures associated with its GSE housing underwriting standards. Responsibilities include reviewing debt application packages for conformance to GSE housing guidelines and determining whether loan sizing is consistent with program criteria. The role requires critically reviewing borrower credit information, third party reports, property financial and physical information to determine whether the borrower and property meet program requirements. The role also includes drafting and finalizing the underwriting submittal package, which includes describing the transaction’s strengths and weaknesses, discussing risks and mitigates, and requesting any associated waivers.
