Research Lead, Open Benchmarks Grants

About the Role:

• We are seeking a Staff or Senior Research Scientist to lead development of frontier benchmarks and datasets.
• This customer-facing role sits at the intersection of research, strategy, and go-to-market, reporting directly to the Head of Research.

Main Responsibilities:

• Design state-of-the-art datasets that drive frontier model training and evaluation based on current model performance and academic partnerships.
• Translate benchmark insights into compelling narratives for presentations, technical reports, and go-to-market materials.
• Work cross-functionally with data operations, product, engineering, and strategy, while representing Snorkel externally through publications and talks.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong research background in AI/ML evaluation, NLP, or related fields with rigorous experimental design.
• Exceptional communication skills and comfort in fast-moving, cross-functional environments.
• Ph.D. in ML or NLP preferred; equivalent industry experience considered.
