Job Description
The Manager, Financial Counseling will be responsible for leading, supporting, improving, and scaling the Financial Counseling department at Equip. This role will provide critical oversight of the team that manages inquiries from patients and families about bills, EOBs, out-of-pocket responsibility, payment plan options, and more - with a focus on supporting Equip’s patients and families to stay in active treatment and removing any financial barriers to ongoing care.
Responsibilities include team leadership (hiring, training, mentoring), providing financial counseling guidance to patients, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, tracking and analyzing data, collaborating with cross-functional departments, recommending and establishing systems and processes for improved patient satisfaction, and performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications include 5+ years of experience in a healthcare customer/patient success, billing, or revenue cycle function, 3+ years of people management experience, expertise in healthcare billing and insurance, strong data analysis skills, the ability to maintain confidentiality, strong communication skills, and comfort with virtual communication platforms. A strong customer service orientation and problem-solving skills are also required.
