Senior FinOps Analyst

Cost Optimization and Resource Right-Sizing:

• Analyze utilization data from AWS Cost Explorer, Compute Optimizer, and CloudWatch to identify right-sizing opportunities.
• Develop prioritized recommendations with quantified savings and partner with engineering to implement them.
• Manage Reserved Instance and Savings Plan strategy, including coverage analysis and lifecycle management.

Consolidated Cost Reporting and Analysis:

• Build and maintain monthly cost reports with spend, trends, and optimization opportunities across accounts.
• Design chargeback and showback models with clear cost allocation and tagging strategies.
• Develop executive dashboards and perform root-cause analysis on cost anomalies.

Forecasting and Budget Management:

• Develop fiscal-year cloud spend projections and monthly burn-rate views, updating as consumption changes.
• Model cost impact of architectural changes and monitor budget utilization against plan.
• Configure AWS Budgets and Cost Anomaly Detection with alerting and response processes.

Governance, Collaboration, and FinOps Practice:

• Participate in cloud architecture reviews to provide cost estimates and financial guidance.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies and cloud governance frameworks.
• Advance FinOps maturity through training, playbooks, and automated cost analysis using Python or SQL.
