988 Crisis Counselor - Afterhours with Holidays (part-time)

Connecting with People:

-Responsible for connecting with people via call, text, and chat through 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.

-Provide suicide prevention/intervention and brief supportive counseling.

-Offer information & referral and follow-up services to those experiencing emotional distress and mental health crises.

Crisis Intervention and Support:

-Provide crisis intervention and supportive counseling to individuals requesting assistance.

-Complete risk assessments and safety planning to determine suicide risk.

-Make referrals to resources, mobile crisis teams, law enforcement, and/or emergency crisis responders.

Professional Responsibilities:

-Consult with 988 Supervisor on issues or questions and actively seek supervision to enhance skills.

-Document the response level appropriate for the situation, ensuring it is complete, clear, and concise.

-Maintain a professional and respectful attitude towards consumers, community, and co-workers.
