Staff Backend Engineer (Automation + Systems)

Backend Engineering:

• Requires 7–10+ years of backend engineering experience, preferably in the fintech space.
• Needs fluency in modern backend stacks (ML/LLM experience a major bonus).
• Should set technical standards for backend systems that prioritize correctness and leverage.

Automation and Systems:

• Design and build automation systems for reconciliation, categorization, and close.
• Improve general ledger (GL) correctness and double-entry accounting workflows.
• Build lifecycle orchestration that moves customers forward without human intervention.

Responsibilities:

• Improve general ledger (GL) correctness and double-entry accounting workflows.
• Own reliability and failure modes for high-volume financial data pipelines.
• Partner with ML and data experts to productionize supervised models and LLM-assisted workflows.
