Lead Mobile Engineer (Contractor)

• We build the operating system for waste haulers, covering dispatch, routing, billing, payments, customer management, reporting, and the driver app.
• Our customers are private hauler owners, operators, and municipal waste leaders who still use paper and spreadsheets.
• We serve 240+ haulers and are scaling quickly as a well-funded, fast-moving vertical SaaS company.

Role Summary:

• We are hiring a Lead Mobile Engineer (Contractor) to be the most senior engineer on our mobile team.
• You will evaluate Kotlin Multiplatform and lead building our first iOS app while strengthening offline-first foundation.
• This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical judgment, comfort with ambiguity, and clear communication in a remote environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead evaluation of KMP and own the recommendation; architect and build first iOS app for iPads used in the field.
• Contribute to existing Kotlin Android app and set mobile engineering standards through code reviews and mentorship.
• Strengthen offline-first architecture with local persistence, background sync, conflict resolution, and reliable photo capture.

Required Qualifications:

• 8+ years building production mobile apps with deep iOS/Swift expertise and working proficiency in Kotlin.
• Hands-on KMP experience, offline-first apps with real-time sync, and mapping SDKs for location-heavy applications.
• Experience leading or mentoring mobile engineers and strong CI/CD experience for mobile.
