Senior Software Engineer, Distributed Systems

Mixpanel is seeking Senior Software Engineers to join their Distributed Systems teams. Responsibilities include working with other engineers to build distributed systems that can handle data at scale. This involves debugging production issues across multiple services and all levels of the infrastructure stack, ensuring reliability and uptime of the services, and keeping an eye on service costs, removing inefficiencies wherever possible. The role further includes improving engineering standards, holding a high bar for code quality and simplicity, and pushing the boundaries on how customers analyze their product data. A typical project requires a thorough understanding of how the service works and how it interacts with other components. The infrastructure runs on Google Cloud Platform, relying on Kubernetes and Docker for orchestration and containerization, using Golang for services, GRPC for internal communication, and C/C++ where Golang doesn't meet performance goals.
