Job Summary:
- Accurately codes inpatient conditions using coding guidelines.
- Understands medical terminology, anatomy, and disease processes.
- Reviews medical records and assigns appropriate codes.
Job Qualifications:
- Must have an AHIMA or AAPC approved Medical Coding Diploma or a Health Information Management Degree.
- Requires three years of progressive inpatient coding experience in an acute care facility.
- Must have CCS, RHIT, or RHIA certification; or AAPC certification at the time of hire.
