About the Role:
- Responsible for implementing multi-year strategic communication plans for scientific manuscripts and meetings.
- Translate complex science for media and the public to reinforce leadership in cardiovascular and brain health.
What You'll Do:
- Develop news releases, media pitches, and multimedia assets promoting research in AHA journals and meetings.
- Cultivate journalist relationships and secure earned media coverage, including managing interviews and news conferences.
- Supervise up to 2 team members and collaborate across internal science and communications teams.
Who We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree with 5+ years in communications, strong AP Style writing and editing.
- 5+ years of project management and media relations experience, plus ability to travel up to 15%.
- Preferred experience supervising and translating scientific abstracts into newsworthy stories.
