Claims Analyst

Claims Analysts will review claimant submissions, supporting documentation, and Proofs of Loss for accuracy, completeness, and eligibility as well as contact claimants or FEMA Navigators to clarify documentation requirements and gather additional evidence as needed. They will apply FEMA policies, the HPCC Act, and 44 CFR Part 296 to determine eligible losses and compensation. They coordinate with Site Inspectors, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and other teams when valuations or additional analyses are required.

Analysts also identify duplication of benefits across insurance, FEMA programs, settlements, or other compensation sources, develop clear and accurate recommendations for compensation amounts supported by substantial documentation, document casework accurately in FEMA’s System of Record (SOR) and maintain strict production timelines, and support the preparation of determination memorandums, issue analyses, and documentation summaries.
