Commercial Underwriter - Transportation

Responsibilities:

• Meet agency profitability and production objectives by underwriting new commercial business, renewal policies, and policy endorsements.
• Understand and evaluate individual risk exposures through mentoring and integrate these functions within the Commercial Underwriter workflow.
• Assist in analyzing agency and book of business results to determine corrective actions and support sales managers in establishing and communicating action plans and premium goals.

Qualifications:

• Five years of experience in commercial transportation underwriting, with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, along with organizational, interpersonal, and mentoring abilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Insurance, or a related field, with completion of Associate in Underwriting program and CPCU coursework preferred.

Work Arrangement & Compensation:

• This position offers both remote and hybrid work options, with hybrid available for candidates within 50 miles of West Bend, Madison, or Appleton offices, and remote for those beyond, with occasional travel required.
• The salary range is $75,101-$93,876 per year, based on factors like experience, skills, business needs, and location.
