Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate sources and work with the Vice President of Investigations to identify leads.
  • Conduct preliminary investigations and manage projects by assigning tasks to researchers and interns.
  • Author balanced reporting and present findings to POGO's policy team.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of eight years of experience as an investigator or journalist.
  • Must work independently and collaboratively with strong project management skills.
  • Excellent editorial judgment, research skills, and ability to maintain a professional network.

Founded in 1981 in partnership with whistleblowers, the Project On Government Oversight (POGO) is a nonpartisan independent watchdog that works to expose waste, corruption, abuse of power, and other instances where the government fails to serve the public. POGO has an over $7 million annual budget that supports a staff of over 50 employees.
