Software Asset Management (SAM) Specialist

This internally focused role is critical to establishing and maintaining a robust SAM function within a greenfield environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining, designing, and delivering the entire spectrum of an internal SAM service, including processes, procedures, tools, and governance. The organisation is a heavy Microsoft user with a 3-year enterprise agreement, and also utilises a wide range of SaaS services including Azure and AWS. Therefore, experience in FinOps and cost optimization is highly desirable. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing a SAM strategy, defining SAM policies, selecting SAM tools, establishing governance, collaborating with teams, monitoring software usage, conducting internal audits, providing training, and staying updated with licensing trends. The role also involves managing Microsoft agreements and supporting FinOps initiatives.
