Senior Backend Engineer

Tonal is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to collaborate with product, engineering, and design teams to build the platform for the world's most intelligent personal trainer. The engineer will impact the development of major software projects for backend services driving personalized workout recommendations, media generation and distribution, and analytics using a large fitness dataset. The role involves collaborating with software, hardware, and content teams to evolve the fitness product, clarifying requirements with the product team, and designing new features. Responsibilities include implementing, testing, deploying, and monitoring cloud-based backend microservices, writing clean, secure, and testable code, and developing cloud-based big data pipelines. The engineer will also use analytics to understand product behavior and mentor junior engineers.
