Responsibilities:
- Lead and perform transmission system planning and analysis studies, including load flow, stability, short circuit, and electromagnetic transients (EMT).
- Prepare and manage new generator interconnection applications, ensuring compliance with reactive power requirements and developing necessary models.
- Review and interpret ISO/RTO feasibility and system impact studies to advise interconnection clients effectively.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 6 years of relevant power systems engineering experience with utility or consultant.
- Proficiency in using transmission planning software such as PSS/E, PSLF, or TARA for load flow modeling, contingency analysis, and stability studies.
- Experience with power regions and ISOs/RTOs like PJM, MISO, ERCOT, or CAISO is highly valued.
AI & Automation Leadership:
- Lead teams in using modern tools, automation, and AI to improve engineering workflows, reduce rework, and deliver cost-effective designs.
- Oversee automation of engineering tasks using scripting languages like Python and guide the application of AI tools while ensuring rigorous result verification.
