Job Description
At LeoLabs, our Hardware Engineering Team designs, develops, manufactures, and deploys the advanced radar systems that provide persistent orbital intelligence to our customers worldwide. As a Hardware Engineering Intern, you’ll jump right into real engineering work by contributing to the design, assembly, and testing of hardware that supports our next-generation radar systems. You’ll work closely with mechanical and electrical engineers and get hands on experience with everything from CAD design and 3D printing to hands-on prototyping and system assembly. Throughout the internship, you will also take the lead on a hands-on design project, such as developing and fabricating a mechanical fixture, tool, or prototype component to support radar integration and testing. Support mechanical design and prototyping for radar system components and test fixtures. Perform hands-on assembly and integration of hardware subsystems, enclosures, and supporting structures. Create and modify CAD models and engineering drawings in SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD software. Assist with basic mechanical analysis, fit checks, and tolerance verification. Contribute to lab organization, part tracking, and test setup preparation. Take ownership of a hands-on design project, such as creating a mechanical prototype, jig, or test fixture that directly supports active radar development.
