Software Engineer - Backend

Join us as a Backend Engineer and help power the technology behind Maple’s virtual care platform. In this role, you’ll be part of a cross-functional squad of engineers, product managers, and designers, solving real user problems and shipping features that improve healthcare access for millions of Canadians. As a Backend Engineer, you’ll contribute to the design and implementation of Laravel-based services, write clean and maintainable code, and collaborate with your squad to deliver features end-to-end. You’ll gain exposure to system architecture, observability, and performance improvements while developing your technical expertise and product thinking. Contribute to backend services built with Laravel (PHP) that directly support patient and provider experiences. Collaborate within your squad to design, build, and ship new features that balance technical soundness with user impact. Write clean, maintainable, and testable code that improves the reliability and scalability of our platform. Participate in code reviews and team discussions , helping to raise the bar for quality while learning from more senior engineers. Support improvements in observability, performance, and developer experience across our systems.
