Job Description
The Pharmacy Communication Technician (PCT) assists the Pharmacist by adding and updating patient information to the pharmacyβs files. The PCT must be detailed oriented to keep prescription and patient information on the appropriate platforms. This role involves receiving inbound calls from providers and patients, answering questions professionally, and forwarding calls to the appropriate departments. The PCT inputs patient prescription information into record-keeping programs, ensuring accuracy and collaborating with pharmacists. They also spot-check for errors and maintain client confidentiality, adhering to SelectRx's standards and policies. Responsibilities include understanding and following department procedures to perform essential job functions. The position requires efficient typing skills, the ability to use multiple software programs, and a high degree of interpersonal and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and English is required.
