Senior Search & AI Discoverability Engineer

About the Team:

• The Marketing and Acquisition team operates as a cross-functional engine, partnering with Marketing, Philanthropy, Sales, and all product teams.
• We move users from discovery to their first meaningful moment on the platform.

The Role:

• This role sits at the intersection of traditional organic search and AI-powered discovery.
• You'll own the technical foundation for how Khan Academy's content gets found, indexed, cited, and recommended by search engines and AI systems.

What You'll Do:

• Research and implement GEO/AEO/AIO strategies to optimize content for AI-generated responses.
• Conduct regular technical audits and translate findings into scoped engineering projects.
• Instrument and monitor discoverability metrics across traditional and emerging AI surfaces.

What You Bring:

• 5+ years of hands-on technical SEO experience with direct implementation.
• Ability to own implementation end-to-end, shipping code in Go and React.
• Working knowledge of AI-powered search and answer engines.
