Coder Abstractor - Cardiology

Responsibilities:

• Analyze physician documentation and encounter forms to accurately assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for cardiology services.
• Act as a liaison between clinical sites and the central billing office, resolving coding issues and supporting charge capture within two business days.
• Identify educational needs and compliance concerns, reporting them to the Director of the Central Billing Office.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree in Health Record Technology or a related field with two years of professional coding experience, or three years of experience with a CPC, RHIT, or RHIA credential.
• Must obtain or maintain professional coding certification (CPC, RHIT, RHIA) within 18 months if not already held.
• Requires at least two years of specialized experience in cardiology coding.

• This is a fully remote position, eligible for a $5,000 sign-on bonus.
