Director, Engineering (Core Engineering)

Lead Expel’s Delivery Experience, Quality Engineering, Assembler, and SRE teams as our Director of Core Engineering. Develop team roadmaps in service to internal and external customers, geared towards improving engineering efficiency and the quality of the platform and product, and guide teams to deliver on business goals with timely, iterative execution. Work closely with product and security leaders to set expectations on delivery, and engage in healthy, robust dialog around trade-offs and concerns. Cultivate a culture around structured software development, innovation, quality, and continuous improvement. Communicate and ensure understanding of how the work of teams and individuals ties to company strategy and goals. Guide managers in developing efficient and productive processes, goal setting, and metrics with individual teams. Maintain a rigorous SLO-driven quality and incident response program and work with feature teams and across the platform to establish benchmarks for various aspects of the product and platform, including feature, scalability, performance, reliability, and security.
