Essential Functions:

  • Manage high-volume inbound calls throughout the day and triage patient needs using clinical judgment.
  • Communicate with providers and office teams on care plans, provide pathology results, and schedule appointments or procedures.
  • Process prescription refills, verify insurance, collect payments, and submit prior authorizations accurately.
  • Document patient interactions in ModMed EHR and handle calls from various healthcare entities to determine urgency.

Qualifications:

  • Certified Medical Assistant or Dermatology Certification and at least one year of Medical Assisting experience required.
  • Call center or high-volume phone experience is preferred, along with EMR knowledge, ideally ModMed.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and phone etiquette skills are essential, with an ability to type at least 35 WPM.
  • Organizational, analytical, and multitasking abilities are needed to remain calm and professional under pressure.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

  • Work is performed in a remote home office requiring reliable internet and prolonged sitting for computer use.
  • Frequent use of hands for typing and navigating software systems is necessary for data entry and communication.
  • Visual acuity is needed to read online content, and consistent attention to detail must be maintained in a virtual setting.
  • Adherence to HIPAA and company privacy standards is mandatory while working remotely from Ohio.
