Job Description

The Mainframe Network Engineer is responsible for engineering complex technical solutions for Truist's Mainframe Network. This includes performing problem tracking, diagnosis, and root-cause analysis, as well as replication, troubleshooting, and resolution for complex issues. Programming and debugging activities are also part of the role. The engineer will respond to issues promptly by investigating incidents or service tickets. Analyzing trends with technical issues and developing recommendations for long-term improvements are essential. Documentation of end-user interactions and steps taken to resolve incidents is required. This role involves occasional contact with end-users and communication of issue resolution status to internal customers. The engineer may engage with and manage outside vendors, applying in-depth knowledge of application support and best practices. Leadership of moderately complex projects and participation in larger initiatives are expected. Solving complex technical and operational problems and acting as a resource for less experienced teammates are also key aspects of the job. May have people management responsibilities for a small team.
