Lead Data Engineer

This role is for a hands-on builder who thrives at the intersection of data engineering, software architecture, and pragmatic problem solving. You’ll design and scale the systems that ensure data is trustworthy, accessible, and ready to power everything from day-to-day operations to next-generation AI applications. This role will report to the Director of Engineering. You will serve as a technical leader on the team, mentoring junior engineers, raising the bar on engineering fundamentals, and helping shape the long-term direction of the data ecosystem. You will be part of a skilled, passionate, and collaborative team committed to working together to realize Hopscotch’s ambitious and important vision. Responsibilities include owning the data platform, ensuring data quality & governance, leading with technical depth, thinking big picture, being hands-on, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
