Engineering Director, Privacy

About the Role:

• You will lead privacy engineering initiatives across DuckDuckGo's products, including agentic browsing and private search.
• You will own high-complexity privacy projects from definition to delivery, evolving our privacy review processes.
• You will build automation to reduce toil and mentor the next generation of privacy engineers.

What You'll Do:

• Design technical solutions for private search index capabilities with strict privacy guarantees.
• Build infrastructure tools and data minimization systems to preserve user trust.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to translate privacy principles into practical engineering decisions.

Who You Are:

• You have 10+ years of experience leading privacy programs at consumer-facing companies with large user bases.
• You have 4+ years of privacy engineering leadership, building privacy-preserving technical solutions.
• You have director-level experience with direct management and a track record of improving organizational processes.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Annual salary of $243,800 USD plus stock options.
