QA Automation Engineer

Variacode is seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer for a 6-month contractor position with potential for long-term collaboration. You'll join a product team working on a specific business-critical module, where you will help transform their quality assurance practices. The current automated test coverage is around 25%, and the tech stack includes React, PHP, and AWS infrastructure, with QA tools like Selenium, TestNG, and Java. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the modernization of their testing infrastructure and establish best practices for the team. Key responsibilities include assessing the current setup, designing and implementing automated test suites, evaluating migration to modern tools like Playwright, mentoring the existing QA team, and collaborating with development teams. Technical requirements include strong experience with Selenium and/or Playwright, proficiency in Java, Python, or JavaScript, experience with React applications testing, knowledge of PHP backend testing, hands-on experience with AWS, and a track record of improving test coverage. The ideal candidate is an autonomous professional with strong initiative, experience transforming manual QA processes, mentoring QA engineers, and working in fully remote teams.
