Job Description
Penn State is seeking a part-time Web Developer to contribute to a recently funded NSF project. The role involves website design, development, and ongoing maintenance. The selected candidate will collaborate with the project team to rigorously test, debug, and troubleshoot applications, ensuring adherence to accessibility policies, principles, and practices.
Key responsibilities include designing, developing, testing, and supporting the website, as well as working with users to analyze requirements and participating in project planning efforts. The developer will also provide end-user consultation, functional support, training, documentation, and guidance, alongside investigating application and website issues and implementing corrective actions. The role also includes monitoring applications and websites for quality standards, University standards, accessibility requirements, coding practices, and security.
The position requires experience in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, as well as familiarity with GitHub and basic version control practices. The ability to work independently and meet deadlines is essential.
