Mainframe Programmer (ZOS – CICS, Web services)

About the Role:

• We are seeking a Mainframe Programmer with expertise in z/OS Connect Enterprise Edition and API development for a 100% remote contract position.
• You will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying REST APIs that integrate mainframe applications with modern services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deploy REST APIs using z/OS Connect, configuring API mappings between mainframe and JSON.
• Support CICS-based API integrations, troubleshooting issues and collaborating with teams.
• Work on mainframe modernization initiatives, ensuring security and performance.

Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience with z/OS Connect, REST APIs, COBOL, CICS, and Db2.
• Strong understanding of JSON, OpenAPI/Swagger, and mainframe data structures.
• Knowledge of z/OS concepts like RACF, SMF, and WLM.
