Threat Hunting Researcher (Unit 42)

Palo Alto Networks is seeking a Threat Hunting Researcher to join Unit 42's Managed Services group. Threat Hunters proactively search for threats using advanced methodologies and identify anomalies that traditional solutions may miss. Researchers develop new hunting techniques and stay ahead of evolving threats. They collaborate with teams like Incident Response and Threat Intelligence to share findings and coordinate response efforts. This role involves threat hunting on various data sources, working on cybersecurity research projects, building hypotheses, executing manual hunting techniques, performing forensic activities, and delivering reports. It enhances knowledge in network, endpoint, cloud, and 3rd-party vendor data sources, attributing threats. Big data is leveraged to discover threats.
