Mobile Engineer

The Team:

• The Consumer Mobile team builds the Kraken app for millions of users.
• They prioritize the product's feel and user experience, focusing on trust.
• They work in React Native, emphasizing fluid and effortless interactions.

The Opportunity:

• Establish animation primitives and interaction patterns within our design system.
• Profile and optimize rendering performance, particularly on lower-end Android devices.
• Mentor engineers on interaction quality and raise the standard for what "done" looks like.

Skills You Should Hodl:

• Deep experience building polished mobile interfaces in React Native.
• A trained eye for interaction design, understanding easing curves, spring physics, and frame rate constraints.
• A portfolio showcasing shipped work, whether it's a personal site, video walkthrough, or GitHub demos.

Nice to Haves:

• Experience with React Native Skia, custom shader work, or canvas-based rendering for non-standard UI.
• Some native platform knowledge (Swift/Kotlin) for when you need to drop below the RN abstraction.
• Background in or affinity for visual/motion design; prototype in Figma or After Effects, or sketch interaction flows.
