Senior Director of Data Engineering

Change.org is looking for a Senior Director of Data Engineering to lead data engineering functions and build a technical backbone for data and AI. Key responsibilities include ensuring reliable data infrastructure, data quality, and governance, and enabling stable and performant data platforms for analysts, product managers, designers, and campaigners. The role also involves leading a team that applies machine learning and automation to the data platform, partnering with product feature teams to embed ML/AI capabilities, and managing cost-efficient and secure systems. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in modern data architecture, a strong understanding of data modeling and ML/AI deployment workflows, and proven ability to implement data quality and monitoring frameworks, with 8–10+ years of experience in data engineering and 4+ years in leadership roles.
