Job Description
Undertake a range of professional transportation and traffic-related projects, studies, and investigations. Responsibilities include coordinating sign removals, replacements, minor repairs, and the development and maintenance of a tracking system within TCE's Sign Information Management System (SIMS) to efficiently monitor all highway signs. The candidate will also document existing conditions and issues, propose improvements, conduct field investigations, and may supervise staff.
This role demands active participation in data collection, conducting surveys, and evaluating traffic conditions. Additionally, the candidate will review and approve work orders, ensuring all operations comply with established guidelines and specifications, and may suggest enhancements to improve efficiency. The candidate must have proficient computer skills as the job involves data entry and the use of city-specific transportation software such as the Sign Information Management System (SIMS). Tasks also include preparing forms, reports, logs, and correspondence.
