Senior Member of Technical Staff, Synthetic Data

Role Overview:

• As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer specializing in synthetic data, you will own the end-to-end synthetic data pipeline for Cohere's advanced language models.
• You will manage data analysis, generation, ablation studies, and model evaluation to improve token efficiency and model quality.
• This role bridges research and engineering to drive innovation in natural language processing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and build scalable inference pipelines that run on large GPU clusters.
• Conduct data ablations to assess data quality and experiment with data mixtures.
• Research and implement innovative synthetic data curation methods using Cohere's infrastructure.

Qualifications:

• Strong software engineering skills with Python and experience building data pipelines.
• Familiarity with data processing frameworks like Apache Spark, Pandas, and LLM inference frameworks like vLLM.
• Experience working with large-scale datasets and a passion for bridging research and engineering.
