Job Description
Define and own the SMB product vision and strategy, aligned with Djamo’s mission to drive financial inclusion and empower entrepreneurs. Build a 3–12 month roadmap balancing business customer needs, growth objectives, compliance requirements, and operational scalability. Identify opportunities to launch or enhance products such as business current accounts, multi-wallet features, merchant payment tools, expense management, and partner-driven credit lines. Drive Djamo’s SMB offering expansion to new countries across Western Africa, adapting solutions to local regulations, tax regimes, and business practices.
Translate strategy into clear product requirements, PRDs, and user stories that guide engineering and design teams. Work closely with Engineering, Design, Risk, Legal, Operations, and Finance to deliver secure, compliant, and scalable SMB products. Prioritize ruthlessly to focus on the highest-impact initiatives that deliver value to our SMB users. Ensure compliance with local business-banking regulations, KYB/AML standards, and data-privacy requirements.
Conduct customer research, market analysis, and data-driven insights to understand the financial behaviors and pain points of small business owners. Optimize onboarding, activation, and engagement flows to help SMBs easily open accounts, accept payments, manage cash flow, and access credit. Partner with Growth, Marketing, and Customer Success to design campaigns, referral programs, and education materials that drive adoption and retention.
Define and track KPIs such as active SMB accounts, transaction volume, business deposits, churn, credit utilization, and product-level profitability. Collaborate with Operations and Finance to ensure smooth onboarding, merchant settlements, dispute handling, and treasury processes. Lead incident reviews and drive continuous improvements to ensure a reliable and trusted experience for SMB customers.
