Platform Engineering at Sei:
- Build Sei into a world-class L1 for decentralized finance, making the safe path the default for every engineer.
- Focus on observable, tested, reversible, and fast processes as a foundational hire on a small team.
Responsibilities You'll Own:
- Infrastructure & scale testing: Develop and maintain Docker/Kubernetes harnesses for stress testing as a pre-release gate, managing multi-cloud footprint with explicit reliability and cost targets.
- Release engineering & CI/CD: Consolidate CI/CD into reusable workflows, own version tagging, hotfix paths, PR review scaffolding, and the full release lifecycle.
- Observability & performance: Implement a single pane for metrics, traces, and logs correlated by block height, ensure HA Prometheus, ELK, and defined SLOs, and automate chaos and performance tests gating all releases.
- Security & incident response: Run bug and vulnerability workflows end-to-end, handle triage, postmortems, and turn incidents into tests, metrics, or runbooks.
Requirements We're Looking For:
- 5+ years building production systems at scale, with experience designing and shipping infrastructure relied on by other engineers.
- Strong security fundamentals, including threat modeling and integrating security into development pipelines.
- Understanding of distributed consensus protocols, including safety vs. liveness and fault assumptions, with practical debugging experience.
- Expertise in benchmarking, performance bottleneck analysis, and live incident response under pressure.
- End-to-end systems thinking, with opinions on monitoring stacks, CI/CD, and chaos testing, able to defend architectural decisions.
