Principal Product Engineer – AI Checkout

About the Role:

• The Principal Product Engineer, AI Checkout is the most senior individual-contributor engineering seat, designing and owning the checkout system.
• This is a hands-on, principal-level IC role with no direct reports and maximum leverage.
• You set the technical bar and ship the hardest parts yourself.

What You'll Own:

• The AI-native checkout architecture, agentic product capabilities, payments integration, and mission-critical reliability.
• The full stack from frontend through backend, including systems design, rendering, and data models.
• Conversion and experimentation tools like real-time analytics and A/B testing.

What We're Looking For:

• 10+ years building web platforms with staff/principal-level IC impact and true full-stack depth.
• Strong systems design, AI power user daily, shipped agentic AI to production.
• Excellent written communication and a track record of raising the engineering bar.
