Job Description

As an Interior Acoustics Engineer, you will play an advisory role on a major capital rehabilitation project by supporting a multidisciplinary project team in enhancing and standardizing acoustic performance across a complex historic building. This is a part-time, remote role ideal for an experienced professional with deep technical knowledge and an appreciation for heritage conservation. You will review and validate existing acoustic principles. Recommend refinements and mitigation strategies to improve acoustic performance across diverse interior environments and contribute to the development of standardized acoustic performance guidelines that will be used both for this project and to inform future initiatives. Provide insights into current best practices and industry standards, with a focus on complex institutional and heritage settings. Clearly communicate acoustic strategies, performance expectations, and recommendations to a broad group of stakeholders. Ensure all recommendations align with heritage conservation priorities and precedents from similar projects. Collaborate with project teams through a combination of virtual and in-person engagement, including site visits as required.
