Design Lead

Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and support a team of designers, providing feedback, career guidance, and hands-on coaching to set the tone for design quality and collaboration.
• Conduct regular design critiques, foster a constructive feedback culture, and hire additional design talent as the team scales to meet organizational needs.
• Architect a comprehensive design system including component libraries, tokens, and documentation to enable consistent, efficient work across design and engineering.

Process & Collaboration:

• Serve as the internal Figma expert, setting up libraries, conventions, and training the team on advanced features like auto layout and variables.
• Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering to integrate design into the product development lifecycle, from discovery through delivery.
• Act as a strategic partner, influencing roadmap decisions with design thinking and facilitating design reviews to align stakeholders on direction and tradeoffs.

Innovation & Leadership:

• Champion the role of design in an AI-accelerated environment by evaluating and adopting emerging AI-powered design tools and workflows.
• Partner with teams to experiment with AI tooling, develop guidelines for responsible use, and position the design team as an internal champion for innovative workflows.
• Proactively advocate for and improve accessibility standards across all product experiences to ensure inclusive design.
