Job Description

This Senior Research Specialist position at the Institutional Antiracism and Accountability (IARA) Project will contribute to research and policy analysis focused on health equity and history of medicine. This position will play a key role in the final stage of the Truth, Reconciliation, Healing, and Transformation (TRHT) Archival Research Project. The TRHT Research Project, in partnership with the American Medical Association (AMA), examines the historical roots of racial disparities in American healthcare to develop actionable strategies for restorative justice and health equity. The Senior Research Specialist will serve as the primary writer in the project’s final report, in addition to conducting in-depth archival research and analysis. Responsibilities include writing the final report, analyzing historical harms, coordinating with AMA archivists, leading Research Assistants, and participating in project coordination activities. The position also involves independent scholarly activities, supporting grant proposal development, and presenting findings at events and conferences.
