Role Summary:
- Manage a subset of PLOS journals, including PLOS Biology and PLOS Medicine, with line-management of professional Editors-in-Chief.
- Provide editorial oversight for volunteer-led journals across biology, human health, and environmental health.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee editorial strategy, budgets, and performance metrics for the journal portfolio.
- Lead a cohesive team of editorial staff, fostering cross-portfolio and cross-cultural collaboration.
- Partner with marketing, operations, and global development teams to drive engagement and open science uptake.
Qualifications:
- PhD and post-doctoral experience plus 5+ years of editorial leadership in STM publishing.
- Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
