Job Description

The Global Buyer Team is a key function within the Global Procurement organization at Block, working at the intersection of Strategic Sourcing, Legal, Third Party Risk, Finance and Operations to support scalable, policy-compliant procurement. As a key member of the Buyer Team, you'll help drive transparency, operational efficiency, and risk mitigation by managing the full purchase requisition and order lifecycle, collaborating cross-functionally, and mentoring peers. Your impact will be felt across the business as you uphold spend policies, streamline processes, and contribute to strategic procurement initiatives that ensure a secure, scalable procurement ecosystem. You Will Review and approve PRs and Change Orders in OracleCloud, ensuring policy and SLA compliance Manage the full PR/PO lifecycle, including routine maintenance and ownership updates Assign incoming PRs, Change Orders, and Help Desk tickets to optimize team workload and resolution speed Triage and respond to Procurement Help Desk issues; resolve escalations, ensure SLA adherence, and document lessons learned Audit team deliverables for compliance and accuracy; provide mentoring on procurement policies and best practices Support stakeholders through complex procurement processes and connect them with the right resources or cross-functional teams to ensure policy alignment Interpret commercial terms in supplier agreements to ensure legal, financial, and policy compliance Identify and document non-compliant purchasing behaviors; analyze trends and recommend policy or process improvements to mitigate risk Analyze spend, supplier, and market data to uncover cost savings and drive value-creation opportunities Build dashboards and reports to highlight process gaps, compliance risks, and efficiency gains Track timelines, budgets, and performance metrics; communicate progress and risks to stakeholders Collaborate with Sourcing partners to align on contract and PO requirements, ensuring strategies are executable, and policy-compliant Partner cross-functionally to clarify requirements, anticipate downstream impacts and support seamless procurement handoffs Identify opportunities to improve workflows, tools or policies through root-cause analysis and team feedback; maintain scalable playbooks and documentation to support consistency and adoption Partner with IT and other teams to define ERP, CLM, and analytics system requirements Lead the planning and operationalization of approved process, policy, or tooling improvements Champion continuous improvement efforts by identifying automation opportunities, championing new technologies (including AI), and supporting change management
